My Perfect Planet

In my Language Arts class, we did a project where we had to draw and describe our perfect planet. I named my planet after Neptune’s second biggest moon, Proteus. My friend Jade, named her planet after Neptune’s biggest moon, Triton. Our planets are right next to each other. But very different from each other. To learn more about Jade’s planet go to her blog, Jade Being Crazy.

My planet is Proteus (it is named after Neptune’s second biggest moon) . Proteus is a planet in the Sagittarius A (a massive black hole) and is the twin planet Triton(Jade’s planet). Proteus has many plants that are similar to Earth plants. There is grass, trees, daisies, roses that don’t have thorns, and seaweed. There is a lot of water that never runs out in supply. It is safe to drink anywhere and will boost your energy for 5 hours. Proteus also has animals very similar to Earth’s animals. There are dogs, cats, pandas, koalas, bees, there are mosquitoes (that don’t pass diseases and don’t bite), and other cute animals. On Proteus, there is Gold, Diamonds, Iron, Turquoise, Amber, and Ruby. It also occasionally rains diamonds. There is a blue sky, regular Earth weather, and each day is twenty four hours. There is oxygen that is cleaner than Earth’s.

Proteus is the most popular tourist attraction in Sagittarius A and is very highly known for its very talented softball players. Other fun things you can do at Proteus are unlimited. You could go visit our four regions. Winter, summer, and spring. Each region has its own tourist attraction. Winter has an ice castle, snowman assembly classes, snowball fights, a class on how to make hot cocoa, and a pond that is safe to ice skate on. The spring region has a big hill where you can watch nature and the clouds in the sky, flower picking club, big fluffy bunnies, and a flowing stream. The summer region has a pool, a beach, an amusement park, a bubble tea store, and an ice cream shop. Finally, the fall region has beautiful colored leaves, leaf piles, walking trails, and a lake.

Proteus has no government because unlike Earth, everyone has common sense, they are very friendly, and we all agree on everything. There also is no money. You don’t need to have a job on Proteus because everything is shared equally. If a tourist happens to break the law (no Proteus natives ever break the law), then all of the citizens would vote what happens but I would have the ultimate decision. Everyone gets along really well on Proteus but natives are not as friendly to them as they are to natives. There is less AI on Proteus than there is on Earth. There is modern medicine, there is also a lot of Apple products, but there is no AI that brings things back to life and takes control over other things.

A normal day on Proteus consists of more outdoor time than on Earth. Everyone wakes up at eight am to get ready for the day. If you don’t wake up at eight, you will be confined to your home for twenty four hours. After they get ready, most people will go down to the creek for fresh water. There is indoor plumbing but most natives like to drink the water from the creek. Next, it depends on your job what to do. For example, if you farm, you would head over to the farm and work at your own pace. If you bake or cook, you would go to the shop and cook or bake. If you are a water collector, you will go to the main creek and collect water. If you sew, you will head to the shop and sew clothes. There are many other jobs and these are just a few.

At five pm, everyone will go back to their home and get ready for dinner (on Proteus, you only eat dinner). Everyone heads over to the dining hall and receives food and deserts that were made/picked that day. At the end of eating time (usually 8:00) everyone will receive new clothes that were sewn and old clothes that were washed. Then everyone goes back to their home and goes to bed. Then the cycle repeats. A typical day on Proteus is nothing like one on Earth.
